My name is Amina Hassan and I am from Zimbabwe. I have just completed my Bachelor of Art degree with a concentration in graphic design (May 1998) at Radford University in Virginia, USA.
I was born in Zimbabwe and lived there until I was 19 before I left to further my studies abroad. I went to an all girls private high school called "Arundel" in Zimbabwe, where I completed my O'Levels and A'Levels.
I have always been creative, enjoying both drawing and painting and especially designing. My interest in the field developed during high school and I persevered and pursued it through to university. I hope to eventually work within the creative department of a graphic design or advertising agency.
In my spare time I design, paint and enjoy doing ceramics and craft work. I exercise regularly, play tennis and swim. I have travelled extensively around Africa, Europe, the Middle east and the USA. I love meeting people and seeing different places. I truly believe that it is an education in itself and allows me to grow, learn and broaden my horizons and appreciate different cultures.
I enjoy working with a team as well as alone. I like to take the initiative and show my capabilities. I always try to learn from those in higher positions. I am ambitious and work hard to achieve my objectives. I am disciplined and consistent with the production of my work. My ideas are innovative and original. Proficiency is important to me.
